Circulatory System:
Moves nutrients to the cells of the body to feed them and help them fight disease. The main Parts of the Circulatory system are the Heart, Blood, and blood vessels. Arteries carry blood and the oxygen in it from the lungs to all of the other cells of the Body. Once the oxygen is used, veins carry the blood back to the heart are four chambers. Each chamber is a little pump that pushes the blood through the body. It takes 1 to 2 minutes for blood to circulate all around the body.
Facts:
- The Heart Beats About 3 Billion times in the average person's life
- The reasons why the Red Blood Cell are red is because they contain a protein chemical called hemoglobin which is bright red in colour
- Blood that is high and rich in oxygen is a bright, healthy red, while, blood that is poor in oxygen is a dull red.
Disorders:
- Trauma: Penetrating trauma such as a knife wound may damage the blood vessel.
- Vascular Malformations
- Aneurysms: Is a localized weakness to the vessel wall that results in an isolated expansions of the vessel, like a balloon popping up.
With what others systems does it work?
- Works with the respiratory system because it supplies oxygen and nutrients to our bodies.
